Strategy guide – Childhood & youth success
COMING SOON - Advancing Educational Equity and Closing Gaps in Outcomes
Education has long been viewed as the great equalizer in paving a path to increased opportunity. Educational equity is achieved when outcomes (high school graduation, college attainment) is no longer closely correlated with a student’s race, income level, gender, ability status, or zip code. Yet access to quality early learning experiences and K-12 education still varies significantly based on race, socioeconomic status, and locality. Strategies included in this education strategy guide leverage our Equity Framework and prioritize changes to institutions, policies, and practices to help close persistent inequities in resources, supports, and opportunities that contribute to gaps in educational outcomes for black, indigenous and Latino children and youth in contrast to their white and Asian peers. The ideas included here are not intended to be used in isolation but in tandem with other impact areas.
